Project 2: "The Alienist"  Book Illustration

This set of illustrations depicts scenes in the detective novel “The Alienist” by Caleb Carr. In this story that happens in the 19th century, Dr. Laszlo Kreizler, the alienist, leads his investigation team to unveil the truth behind serial murders in New York City. Based on texts, I try to illustrate 19th-century architectural and clothing styles, as well as the characters’ relationships and conflicts in the book.
